Iowa's can redemption program is a recycling program in which Iowa residents are able to get back the $.05 deposit charged to them when they purchased their product.  If you purchased your product out of state you were not charged a deposit.  The State of Iowa considers it a FRAUDULENT ACT to redeem cans when you have not paid a deposit.  Feel free to contact Bill Blum from the State of Iowa if you have questions on this matter at 515-281-8176 or bill.blum@dnr.iowa.gov

New can redemption guidelines:

Iowa residents ONLY are able to redeem the full $.05 return

• We pay out $.05 for counted cans
• We pay out $.04 if cans are not counted

Non-Iowa residents-you must show an Iowa receipt for all cans to get paid a full return

• We pay $.025 for counted cans
• We pay $.02 if cans are not counted

*1,000 limit/visit
*glass must be boxed separately
*cans must be in clear bags

*bags are available for purchase at our redemption center
*items must be CLEAN, EMPTY, and FREE FROM GARBAGE
*items cannot be crushed or destroyed

*please label all bags with name and phone number

Your redemption will be thrown out immediately without pay if it contains ANY garbage, glass, or liquids still in cans/bottles.

We have the right to refuse or deduct cans and/or money if you do not meet these requirements

*IF YOU HAVE AN OVERDUE GARBAGE ACCOUNT YOUR CAN REDEMPTION MONEY WILL BE CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND NOT PAID OUT IN CASH!
